Bow Hill Blueberries in compostable branded blueberry packaging

Bow Hill Blueberries designed the graphics for the Low Profile Pint package that we then custom printed for them. Made of a home compostable Kraft paperboard and vegetable-based ink, the Bow Hill box is a hit with earth-minded consumers. The minimum order for this size was a pallet of 21,600 containers, along with a one-time design setup fee. Even with the freight cost the containers weren't that much more than the traditional plastic pint clamshells with tiny labels that most recycling centers won't take. Bow Hill also ordered a FoldBot to make folding faster that they incorporated into their semi-automated fill line: BLUEBERRIES

Inventor Linda Fritz talked with Frank Marzullo about her new Sustainable Produce Containers were used by the Super Bowl Live Farmer's Market to meet requirements. All packaging had to be either recyclable or biodegradable and the Taste of Redland farm bought 9000 of her Half Pints to put their cherry tomatoes and strawberries in.
